# Set nutrition targets

> Set calorie and macro targets for training and rest days, and see what clients log.

Open a client and go to the **Nutrition** tab.

## Set targets

**1. Start the setup**

Click **Set up nutrition**.

**2. Enter the targets**

Enter protein, carbs and fat. Leave calories blank to work them out from the macros.

Use the same numbers every day, or set different targets for training days and rest days. Rest numbers apply on days with no workout on the calendar.

**3. Choose a start day**

Choose the day the targets start. Earlier days keep the targets they had.

To change them later, click **Change targets**.

## Use the calculator

The calculator suggests targets from your client's details, such as weight, height and activity. If it's missing something, add it on the client's [profile](https://help.trainblock.app/coaches/clients/client-profile.md), or type the targets yourself.

The calculator starts from your studio's numbers:

* **Protein per kg of bodyweight (g)**
* **Fat as a share of calories (%)**
* **Carbs cut on rest days (%)**

Set your studio's defaults in **Settings** > **Nutrition**. To use different numbers for one client, open **Calculator numbers** on their **Nutrition** tab.

## Show or hide the numbers

Some clients do better not counting. In **Settings** > **Nutrition**, under **Clients**, choose who sees calories and macros in the app. When the numbers are off, a client still logs meals and photos.

## See what your client eats

The **Nutrition** tab shows each day of the week, with calories logged against the target. Open a day to see each meal and its photo.

You can **Add meal**, **Edit meal** or **Delete meal** for your client.
